Wilderness Run was the first coaster built by Intamin, the manufacturer of several Cedar Point coasters including Millennium Force, Top Thrill Dragster and Wicked Twister. The steel coaster debuted in 1979 and was originally named Jr. Gemini, after Gemini, which is located directly across the midway from the station’s original location. It was renamed Wilderness Run in 2014, and the station was moved from the Gemini Midway to Camp Snoopy.
Wilderness Run’s 50-second ride is geared towards Cedar Point’s smaller guests. The forest green track is in a small figure-8 layout which begins with a 19 foot hill. The single train reaches a speed of 6 miles per hour. Guests must be at least 36 inches, but less than 54” tall or accompanied by a child to ride.
